This webinar will highlight the eligibility for and benefits of the major types of health insurance, including Medicare, Medicaid, employer-sponsored, and marketplace insurance. The webinar will also familiarize participants with various benefit programs, including ADAP, long-term care, and prescription assistance programs. Upon conclusion of this session, participants will be equipped to access and advocate for the best care for clients and patients in order to increase community health.

Faculty: Steve Wood, Senior Education and Advocacy Coordinator at HealthHIV 

Steve Wood has worked in the HIV/AIDS field since 1985 at a variety of organizations and institutions, serving as a trainer and direct service provider at several community-based and AIDS service organizations. Prior to coming to HealthHIV, Steve was the Director of Insurance Programs at ACR Health in Syracuse, NY. He managed eight insurance enrollment and advocacy programs, in addition to managing 21 staff in 14 NYS counties. Steve has expert knowledge of the various types of insurance, as well as how to advocate for clients.
