Activity Description

This engaging two-hour session will focus on helping older adults living with HIV stay strong in body and mind. Learn how to fight frailty, boost emotional wellness, and build resilience among older adults living with HIV—helping them not just survive, but truly thrive!

Educational Objectives

After completing this activity, the participant should be better able to:

  • Recognize the clinical and social factors contributing to frailty among older adults living with HIV.
  • Discuss evidence-based interventions and supportive services that improve health, mobility, and quality of life.
  • Explore strategies to strengthen care coordination and multidisciplinary support for aging populations with HIV.
  • Apply practical approaches to empower older adults to engage in self-care and community resources that promote resilience and independence.
  • Identify common mental health challenges experienced by older adults living with HIV, including anxiety, depression, isolation, and cognitive decline.
  • Discuss the psychosocial factors that influence emotional well-being and quality of life among aging populations with HIV.
  • Discuss assessment tools and screening approaches for identifying cognitive impairment in older adults living with HIV.
  • Identify opportunities to integrate cognitive health monitoring and referrals into routine HIV care and community-based services.

Method of Participation
